About

We all go through ups and downs...

... and I have experienced my fair share of both. But these experiences have inspired me to help others who may be struggling and are in need of a listening ear.

I have completed three years' training, including the CPCAB level 2 & 3 qualifications from Stockton Riverside College, and the Foundation Degree in Counselling from Teesside University. I am also a member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy), and am firmly committed to working within the BACP ethical guidelines.

As an integrative counsellor, I have received training in multiple theories, including Person-Centred Counselling, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and psychodynamic Therapy. My professional development is also ongoing. As part of my continual professional development, I completed 30 hours of training, gaining a certificate in Trauma informed practice. I am currently focusing my studies on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Human Given's Psychotherapy.

I understand that everyone is different, and I believe that no single approach will be right for everyone. As an integrative counsellor, I can work with you in a way that is suitable for your individual needs and preferences; working from a single approach, or blending the above theories as required, tailoring your therapy to better suit your unique personality.

Together, we can work to build your sense of self-worth, find strategies to cope with difficult emotions and pursue the meaning and purpose in your life that you are seeking.

"Problems don't define who you are. They are something you experience. You walk in the rain and you feel the rain, but you are not the rain."
